Youth Players Encouraged at District Level Subroto Cup Kickoff

DC Ananya Mittal inaugurated the district level Subroto Cup Football Tournament in East Singhbhum on Wednesday.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Deputy Commissioner of East Singhbhum, Ananya Mittal, inaugurated the district level Subroto Cup Football Tournament on Wednesday, addressing and encouraging the young players.

The tournament saw participation from the winning teams of U-17 boys and girls from all 11 blocks of the district.

The winning team of the district competition will advance to the divisional level tournament on July 5, 2024.

DC Mittal extended his best wishes to all the players.

The Subroto Cup is India’s oldest national school football tournament, established to promote and encourage the sport at the grassroots level.

Students from various countries across Asia participate in this tournament, making it one of the most notable school-level football competitions.

During his address, DC Mittal highlighted the importance of sports, stating, "Sports teach us how to live life. They contribute to not only physical development but also mental and intellectual growth."

The tournament aims to foster sportsmanship and unity among the youth, providing them with a platform to showcase their talents.

Players and spectators alike were inspired by the DC’s words, emphasizing the significance of sports in holistic development.

The event reflects the district’s commitment to nurturing young talent and promoting a healthy, active lifestyle.
