Police Nab Accused While Fleeing City After Shooting Incident

JAMSHEDPUR – Police arrested two suspects in a Dhaktikidih firing case after uncovering a prior dispute linked to the attack.

Police in Bistupur solved the firing case quickly. The incident occurred in Qureshi locality under the police station area.

Meanwhile, the case was registered on May 3, 2026. It involved allegations of intent to kill during firing.

Police acted on a complaint by Sarfaraz Qureshi. He is also known as Gama locally.

However, officers received a tip during investigation. They tracked the named accused attempting escape.

Subsequently, police arrested Mohd Imran alias Gore. They also arrested Mahfooz Alam during the operation.

Moreover, interrogation revealed an old rivalry between parties. A dispute had occurred one day before the incident.

On the other hand, the accused arranged a weapon after the dispute. He brought it from Azadnagar before firing.

Police recovered a country-made auto pistol from them. They also seized one live 7.65 mm bullet.

Additionally, one empty shell was found at the scene. A bike without a number plate was also seized.

Meanwhile, police confirmed Imran has a criminal background. Several cases were already registered against him.

In contrast, both accused were sent to judicial custody. Further investigation in Jamshedpur is still ongoing.
