South Eastern Railway Increases Capacity to Accommodate Pilgrim Rush
Multiple routes added between key cities and Puri to facilitate festival attendance.
JAMSHEDPUR – The South Eastern Railway has announced several special train services to manage the expected surge in passengers during the upcoming Rath Yatra festival.
"These additional services aim to provide comfortable and convenient travel options for pilgrims," stated a railway official.
Key Routes and Schedules
Baleshwar-Puri Special (08387/08388):
Departure: July 6 and 14, 2024
Return: July 8 and 16, 2024
Badampahar-Puri Special (08379/08380):
Departure: July 6 and 14, 2024
Return: July 8 and 16, 2024
Rourkela-Puri Specials:
08376/08377:
Departure: July 5 and 14, 2024
Return: July 8 and 16, 2024

Notable Stops

Baleshwar-Puri route includes stops at Nilgiri Road, Khantapara, and Soro.
