JAMSHEDPUR – Dr. Ajoy Kumar, former MP and Congress Working Committee member, celebrated National Doctors Day by honoring Dr. Kripal Singh Sidhu, a respected senior doctor in the city.
The ceremony took place at Dr. Sidhu’s Sonari residence, where Dr. Kumar presented him with a shawl in recognition of his service.
"Dr. Sidhu is truly a godsend, providing affordable medical care when healthcare costs are soaring," Dr. Kumar stated during the event.
The former MP praised Dr. Sidhu’s commitment to accessible healthcare, highlighting his significantly low consultation fees.
Dr. Kumar used the occasion to criticize the central government’s healthcare policies, claiming the Modi administration lacks a clear strategy.
"Rising costs of life-saving medicines are increasingly burdening common people," Dr. Kumar remarked, questioning the government’s healthcare priorities.
He pointed to recent irregularities in the NEET UG exam as indicative of the government’s attitude towards medical education.
"What kind of doctors does this government aim to produce for our society?" Dr. Kumar questioned, expressing concern over medical training standards.
The event was attended by local Congress members including Ravindra Jha, Dharmendra Sonkar, and Bablu Jha.
