Thieves Strike Jamshedpur Home, Steal Cash and Jewelry Worth 9 Lakhs

Family asleep in adjacent room during brazen nighttime burglary

Incident highlights growing concerns over security in Birsanagar area.

JAMSHEDPUR – A daring theft occurred in Zone 6 of Birsanagar police station area on Friday night, with burglars making off with cash and jewelry worth approximately 9 lakh rupees.

The incident took place at the residence of Chandan Bhattacharya while the family was asleep in the house.

"We discovered the theft in the morning when we found our belongings scattered," Bhattacharya stated.

The thieves reportedly stole 6 lakh rupees in cash and jewelry valued at 3 lakh rupees.

Bhattacharya revealed that the cash was meant for ongoing roof construction work, with payment due on Saturday.

"The burglars entered through the roof, accessing our room via the staircase," he explained. "We were sleeping in another room and heard nothing."

This is not an isolated incident in the area. Another theft was reported in the same neighborhood earlier this week.

"This growing trend of burglaries is deeply concerning for residents," a local community leader commented.

Police have been notified and have begun investigating the case.

Authorities are likely to increase patrols in the Birsanagar area in response to these recent thefts.

Residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police.

Locals said that this incident highlights the need for improved home security measures in Jamshedpur’s residential areas.
