CM Soren Pledges Swift Irrigation Solutions For Drought-Hit Kolhan

Underground Pipeline System Proposed To Address Water Scarcity

The Chief Minister’s two-day visit to Seraikela Kharsawan focuses on agricultural needs and new legal reforms.

JAMSHEDPUR – Chief Minister Champai Soren has assured residents of Rajnagar block and surrounding areas in Seraikela Kharsawan of rapid implementation of alternative irrigation arrangements to combat the ongoing drought.

"We’re expediting plans to deliver water directly from the river to fields via an underground pipeline system," Soren stated during his visit to Jilinggoda, Seraikela.

The Chief Minister revealed a comprehensive drought management plan for Jharkhand, focusing on several villages in Seraikela district.

"This pipeline scheme will be executed efficiently, meeting agricultural needs without acquiring villagers’ land," Soren emphasized.

The proposed irrigation solution aims to mitigate drought effects and support agricultural productivity in the region.

Soren also addressed the implementation of a new national law effective July 1, expressing confidence in its potential to enhance law and order.

"This new legislation will bring about a more robust and orderly system, benefitting the entire nation," the Chief Minister remarked.

Local farmers, heavily reliant on consistent water supply, have expressed optimism about the proposed irrigation scheme.

The visit has brought hope to residents of Rajnagar block, who have been grappling with significant agricultural challenges due to water scarcity.

Following his engagements in Seraikela, Soren departed for Jamshedpur before flying to Ranchi.
