Swift community response and fire brigades prevent further spread of destructive fire.
JAMSHEDPUR – A devastating fire broke out in the early hours of Wednesday in Nandigram, Saraikela.
A boring machine belonging to the Public Health Department (PHD) was engulfed in flames, resulting in its complete destruction.
The intense blaze also damaged a wall of the late Sukhlal Singh Sardar’s house, where a shraddha ceremony was ongoing.
Boring machine operators and local residents attempted to douse the flames initially, but the fire’s intensity overwhelmed their efforts.
BJP Block Vice President Ranjit Barik alerted multiple fire departments about the emergency.
"The fire spread rapidly, leaving little time for immediate containment," said an eyewitness who wished to remain anonymous.
The first responder was a fire engine from a modern company, followed by units from Adityapur and Saraikela.
After considerable effort, firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, and authorities have launched an investigation.
A motorcycle parked nearby was also destroyed in the incident, adding to the property damage.
This event highlights the importance of fire safety measures and quick response systems in rural areas.
Local officials are assessing the extent of the damage to provide appropriate assistance to affected parties.
The incident has raised concerns about the safety of construction equipment in residential areas.
Community members have praised the quick action of local residents and fire departments in preventing a potentially larger disaster.
