JAMSHEDPUR – The Naval Tata Hockey Academy (NTHA) marked Olympic Day on June 23 with a special celebration featuring Olympic Gold Medalist Floris Jan Bovelander.
"This day embodies the Olympic values of excellence, friendship, and respect," Bovelander stated during the event.
A thrilling hockey match between Team Floris and Team NTHA Coaches saw Bovelander’s team emerge victorious in a final shoot-out.
"Witnessing the passion of these young players is truly inspiring," Bovelander remarked after the match.
Fifty NTHA boys attended an interactive session where Bovelander shared his Olympic journey and early experiences at NTHA.
The Dutch hockey legend emphasized the importance of discipline and skill development in achieving Olympic success.
Young athletes expressed their enthusiasm for the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics, cheering for the Indian contingent.
"These interactions fuel the aspirations of our budding hockey stars," noted Rao Singh Gurmeet, NTHA Project Director, who was present at the event.
The celebration aimed to inspire the next generation of Indian hockey players to pursue Olympic dreams.
