Young man critically injured in early morning attack, police recover pistol and shell

Jamshedpur witnesses brazen daylight violence as local dispute escalates to gunfire in residential area.

JAMSHEDPUR – A shooting incident in Baldev Basti, under Jugsalai police station, has left a young man critically injured on Sunday morning.

The victim, Karan Singh, was shot in the head around 7 AM while fetching water near his home.

Prahlad, a local resident, allegedly lured Singh to meet his friends who had arrived on a Splendor motorcycle (JH 05 D 1375).

The shooting occurred at Prahlad’s house, with Singh collapsing on the spot after being hit.

Prahlad rushed the injured Singh to Tata Main Hospital (TMH) while his companions attempted to flee.

Alert residents caught some of the suspects and informed the police about the incident.

Sources report that police have recovered a pistol from the scene, along with a spent shell.

Singh, an employee at PM Mall, is said to be in critical condition at the hospital.

The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, with police investigating possible local disputes.

This incident has sparked concerns about rising violence in residential areas of Jamshedpur.

Local authorities are questioning witnesses and examining CCTV footage to piece together the events.

Community leaders call for increased police patrolling to prevent such brazen acts of violence.
