JAMSHEDPUR – Dr. Ajoy Kumar, former Superintendent of Police and ex-MP, has fueled speculation about his potential candidacy for the Jamshedpur East constituency in the upcoming elections.

Local Congress leaders and workers have reportedly been urging Kumar to contest from the seat.

Kumar, a resident of Telco area in Jamshedpur East, has been actively engaging in public outreach programs in the region.

In response to questions about his candidacy, Kumar stated, "I am indebted to Jamshedpur and ready to serve the city. I will follow whatever directive the party gives."

The Congress party is seeking a new candidate for Jamshedpur East after its 2019 contestant, Gaurav Vallabh, joined the BJP.

Kumar’s recent increased visibility in local events has intensified discussions about his political future.

"Dr. Kumar’s deep connection with Jamshedpur makes him a strong potential candidate," remarked a local Congress worker, speaking on condition of anonymity.
