Development Plans for Jharkhand’s Tourist and Sports Sites

Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren conducted a high-level review meeting on Tuesday to discuss the progress of the Department of Tourism, Art-Culture, Sports, and Youth Affairs.

RANCHI – Chief Minister Champai Soren held a review meeting with officials to discuss the progress of various projects under the Department of Tourism, Art-Culture, Sports, and Youth Affairs.

The Chief Minister emphasized the unique natural beauty and cultural heritage of Jharkhand, urging the development of Luguburu and Marangburu into major tourist destinations.

Development of Religious and Cultural Sites

The Chief Minister directed officials to expedite the development of the Pahari Mandir complex in Ranchi.

A proposal for a ropeway at Pahari Mandir is under review, with a feasibility report expected soon.

Soren also highlighted the need for an action plan to bring Jharkhand’s tourism and religious sites to the global stage.

"Jharkhand’s natural beauty and cultural richness are unmatched. We must develop these sites to provide visitors with a unique experience," said Chief Minister Soren.

Tourism Projects and Plans

The Chief Minister emphasized the potential for various forms of tourism, including religious and spiritual tourism.

He mentioned Rajrappa in Ramgarh district as a potential religious tourist destination and called for a Detailed Project Report (DPR) to be prepared.

Soren directed the renovation of Hundru Falls and the construction of a guest house, urging fast-paced work on all identified tourist sites.

He also suggested studying tourism development in other states to enhance Jharkhand’s offerings.

The Chief Minister stressed the importance of developing Sarna religious sites and proposed the development of Serengadaghati (Kolhan) as a tourist destination.

He emphasized the preservation of Jharkhand’s heritage sites, including the Sido Kanhu statue site and Ulihatu martyr site.

Sports Development Initiatives

Chief Minister Soren directed the speedy formation and registration of Sido Kanhu Youth Sports Clubs.

Officials reported the formation of 27,248 clubs, with over 11,000 registered.

The registration process will be expedited through cooperative efforts.

"It is crucial to achieve our targets by simplifying the formation and registration of youth sports clubs," Soren stated.

Soren also directed the maintenance of Khelgaon in Ranchi and the commencement of construction work on various football grounds in Adityapur and Ramchandrapur.

The meeting included discussions on important sports policies, training centers, and achievements in the current financial year.

The Chief Minister provided several guidelines to ensure the effective implementation of these initiatives.

The review meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Avinash Kumar, Secretary of Tourism, Art Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs Department Manoj Kumar, Secretary to the Chief Minister Arwa Rajkamal, Sports Director Sushant Gaurav, Tourism Director Anjali Yadav, and other officials.

The coordinated efforts aim to enhance Jharkhand’s tourism and sports infrastructure, ensuring a better experience for visitors and athletes alike.
