Renowned theatre artistes Chhavi Das and Mohammad Nizam from Jamshedpur’s PATH organization were honored with prestigious recognitions at the All India Theatre Festival in Cuttack, Odisha.

JAMSHEDPUR – Prominent theatre artistes Chhavi Das and Mohammad Nizam of PATH (People’s Association for Theatre) were celebrated for their contributions to theatre at the All India Theatre Festival organized by Nikhil Utkal Kala Niketan.

Chhavi Das, acclaimed for her performances in plays such as “Panchhi” and “Gadhe Ki Baraat,” received the Natya Ratna award, acknowledging her 20 years of dedication to theatre.

Mohammad Nizam, lauded for his multifaceted expertise as a writer, director, and actor over 40 years, was awarded the Natya Shri award for his extensive contributions to stage presentations and theatre workshops.

The awards were presented by local MLA Sofia Firdaus at Annapurna Theatre in Cuttack, adding pride to PATH and the entire city of Jamshedpur.

Expressing their gratitude, Chhavi Das and Mohammad Nizam highlighted the importance of cultural responsibility and vowed to continue their dedication to the performing arts for future generations.

The recognition of Das and Nizam at this esteemed festival underscores their significant impact on the theatre community and their unwavering commitment to the arts.
