Accused Found Guilty Under POCSO Act in 2020 Case
Chaibasa court sentences E Lugun to 10 years in prison and a fine of Rs 10,000 for the rape of a minor in Anandpur.
CHAIBASA – On Friday, a Chaibasa court sentenced E Lugun, a resident of Bedaichida in the Anandpur police station area of West Singhbhum, to 10 years of imprisonment under the POCSO Act.
The case dates back to April 14, 2020, when Lugun committed the crime of raping a minor.
Following the incident, Chaibasa police arrested Lugun and placed him in judicial custody as the case proceeded under the POCSO Act.
Additional Sessions Judge First delivered the verdict, sentencing Lugun to 10 years in prison along with a fine of Rs 10,000.
The court’s decision underscores the severity of the crime and the legal consequences for those found guilty of such offenses.
The case has been closely followed, highlighting the ongoing efforts to ensure justice for victims of sexual crimes.
