BJP Candidate Geeta Koda Concedes Defeat in Singhbhum, Says Win & Loss Part of Elections

BJP candidate Geeta Koda has accepted her defeat in the Singhbhum parliamentary seat, acknowledging the mandate and expressing gratitude to party workers.

CHAIBASA – Geeta Koda, the BJP candidate for the Singhbhum parliamentary seat, has conceded defeat, recognizing the overwhelming lead of her opponent, India Alliance candidate Joba Majhi.

Koda stated that despite the party’s full efforts, they respect the electoral mandate.

She thanked the party workers for their dedication and support throughout the campaign.

Koda mentioned facing harassment during the election campaigning and noted that her workers remained resilient despite the challenges.

She dismissed the notion that her switch from Congress to BJP contributed to her defeat, emphasizing that elections come with wins and losses.

Koda announced that preparations for the upcoming assembly elections are already underway, with hopes for better results.

Meanwhile, celebrations erupted among the workers and leaders of India Alliance, rejoicing in the anticipated victory of Joba Majhi, who finally won by 1.68 lakh votes.

Supporters were seen dancing and celebrating outside the counting place, with abir-abir gulal and fireworks marking the occasion.

Joba Majhi, while addressing the media, expressed gratitude to the people of Singhbhum for their support.

After the 19th round of counting, Majhi leads Koda by a margin of 1,60,817 votes, with only five rounds remaining.

Majhi described her victory as a triumph for the people and pledged to fulfill every promise made during the campaign.

She thanked the party high command and all the leaders of the India Alliance for their roles in her victory.

Majhi promised to address the issues of the people by visiting each assembly constituency.

Commenting on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s slogan of "400 plus," she said the results speak for themselves.

Regarding Koda’s defeat, Majhi attributed it to Koda’s previous alliance and the perceived disrespect of the mandate, leading to the people’s rejection.

The significant lead and celebrations indicate a decisive victory for the India Alliance in Singhbhum.
