K. Ravi Kumar Highlights Voter Turnout App Features for Transparent Electoral Process

The Voter Turnout app will provide updates every two hours, showcasing the voting status across the parliamentary constituency, with data made public on the app at 9:30 AM for the first time, reflecting the turnout until 7:30 AM.

RANCHI – Three ST Lok Sabha seats – Khunti, Singhbhum and Lohardaga – are going to polls tomorrow, Monday, May 13 in the 4th phase of elections. Preparations are on and polling personnel are being deployed.

Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar announced the launch of the Voter Turnout App during a press conference at Nirvachan Sadan, Dhurwa.

The Election Commission of India has undertaken a new initiative by developing an application i.e. Voter Turnout App, for display percentage of phase wise poll turnout for various rounds on the poll day. This application has been made public to view authenticated data published by ECI.

The app is set to provide continuous updates on voting data, ensuring transparency and up-to-date information for the voters.

Voter Turnout App Features

According to Kumar, the app will update the electorate every two hours, starting from 7 AM when the polls open, until 7 PM.

Initial data will be available by 9:30 AM, and this sequence will continue throughout the voting period.

Final data post-vote scrutiny will be available by midnight the following day, assuring all participants of the accuracy and transparency of the electoral process.

Kumar emphasized that the app is a response to the public’s curiosity about real-time voting data and the integrity of the electoral process.

This app ensures that every citizen can trust the data provided, as it is a transparent reflection of the voter turnout,” stated Kumar.

In addition to discussing the app, Kumar highlighted several critical electoral regulations.

He reminded voters that mobile phones are prohibited within the polling booths and that taking photos or recording videos inside polling stations is strictly forbidden.

He also noted that the nomination work was paused on May 11 due to it being the second Saturday of the month.

Regarding the upcoming fourth phase of voting scheduled for May 13, Kumar assured that all preparations are complete.

The polling parties have begun their deployments, and security forces are stationed at all polling locations to ensure a smooth and secure election process.
