IMD Predicts Scattered Rainfall Over Jharkhand for Next 48 Hours
The India Meteorological Department’s Ranchi centre has forecast light to moderate rainfall in several parts of Jharkhand today, as maximum temperatures dip across the state.
RANCHI/JAMSHEDPUR – Weathermen attribute the expected showers to a trough extending from northeast Rajasthan to south Assam, passing over UP, Jharkhand and West Bengal at an altitude of 1.5 km.
Additionally, a wind discontinuity stretches from Vidarbha to Tamil Nadu through central Maharashtra and Karnataka.
Thunderstorm activity during the last 48 hours has led to a decline in mercury levels in most regions.
IMD foresees light to moderate precipitation accompanied by thunderstorms over isolated areas for the upcoming two days.
Jamshedpur recorded a maximum temperature of 34.5°C on May 8th, a notable drop from the previous day’s 38.6°C.
The steel city also received no rainfall in the past 24 hours.
Daltonganj in Palamu was the hottest at 38.6°C, while Bokaro and Chaibasa saw maximums of 35.5°C and 36.4°C respectively.
