Leena Adesara, Gyanoday Noble Academy Principal, Leads Session to Promote Inclusive Education
In a concerted effort to foster sensitivity towards disabilities and encourage inclusive education, the Yi Jamshedpur Accessibility Vertical conducted a workshop on the early detection of autism at DBMS B.Ed College, Jamshedpur, with Leena Adesara, the Principal of Gyanoday Noble Academy, a specialized institution for children with autism, serving as the key facilitator.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Yi Jamshedpur Accessibility Vertical took a proactive step towards promoting inclusivity and raising awareness about autism spectrum disorders by organizing a workshop on the early identification of autism at DBMS B.Ed College, Jamshedpur.
Approximately 150 students, along with Principal Juhi Samarpita, educators, and Yi members Neha Agrawal and Ankita Naredi, participated in the 45-minute session.
The workshop, a cornerstone of Yi Jamshedpur’s broader Inclusivity Drive, aimed to cultivate a culture of understanding and acceptance of diverse abilities within educational settings.
Adesara provided an overview of autism, its potential causes, and methods for early identification, emphasizing the importance of timely intervention.
The interactive segment at the end allowed students to engage directly with Adesara, asking thought-provoking questions related to autism.
By empowering current and future educators with the knowledge and tools to support students with autism, the initiative seeks to create a more inclusive learning environment.
The next phase of the Inclusivity Drive will concentrate on promoting inclusive practices at Tarapore School, Agrico, with the objective of inspiring schools throughout Jamshedpur to embrace diversity and ensure equal access to education for all students.
Adesara delved into the various types, indicators, and spectrum of autism, shedding light on the disorder’s complexities.
