A tragic accident at Tata Steel’s LD#1 has claimed the life of Bablu Gope, a 27-year-old contract worker engaged with M/s Abreast Engineering, who suffered severe burns after being hit by hot slag during a lance jam cutting job.
JAMSHEDPUR – In a tragic incident at Tata Steel’s LD#1, Bablu Gope, a 27-year-old contract worker employed by M/s Abreast Engineering, lost his life after being struck by hot slag while performing a lance jam cutting job at 7:40 am on Friday.
Gope was immediately provided with medical attention and rushed to Tata Main Hospital (TMH), where doctors tragically pronounced him dead.
Tata Steel, in a press communiqué, expressed its deep condolences to the family of Bablu Gope, assuring them that the incident has been promptly reported to the relevant authorities and that an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
