High Court Grants Bail in Major GST Fraud Case

Vicky Bhalotia, a businessman from Jugsalai, Jamshedpur, has obtained bail from the Jharkhand High Court, marking a crucial development in a GST fraud case involving a sum of Rs 48.50 crore. Bhalotia’s apprehension in December in Kolkata set the stage for a series of legal battles centered around allegations of GST evasion through the operation of a sham company.

JAMSHEDPUR – Bhalotia’s defense was undertaken by senior advocates Prakash Jha and Nitin Pasari. As a result, the High Court granted him bail on Tuesday.

Allegations against Vicky Bhalotia revolved around his purported involvement in evading GST through a fictitious company, a matter under investigation by the Central Investigating Wing of GST.

Following a thorough inquiry, substantial evidence was gathered against Bhalotia, leading to the issuance of an arrest warrant against him.

His arrest took place in Kolkata.
