700 kg of Mahua, 40 liters of illicit liquor, and liquor-making equipment seized during the raid
The Seraikela Excise Department, in collaboration with the RIT police station, conducted a successful raid on illegal liquor distilleries operating in the villages along the banks of the Bhua and Parvatipur rivers.
ADITYAPUR – The joint operation targeted the villages of Bhua and Parvatipur, where the team seized a substantial quantity of raw materials and finished products used in the production of illicit liquor.
The haul included 700 kg of Java Mahua, a key ingredient in the production of country liquor, along with 40 liters of illicit liquor and various liquor-making equipment.
During the raid, the liquor operators managed to escape upon seeing the approaching team, highlighting the challenges faced by law enforcement in apprehending those involved in the illegal trade.
The local police station provided crucial support and cooperation throughout the operation, underlining the importance of inter-departmental collaboration in tackling the menace of illicit liquor production.
The successful raid dealt a significant blow to the illegal liquor trade in the region, which has been a cause for concern among both authorities and residents.
