Soren to Remain in Birsa Munda Central Jail Till April 4 in Land Scam Case
Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s troubles continue as a Ranchi-based PMLA special court extended his judicial custody by 14 days in connection with a money laundering case related to a land scam.
RANCHI – Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s legal woes persist as a Ranchi-based PMLA special court extended his judicial custody by 14 days in a money laundering case linked to a land scam, ensuring his stay in Birsa Munda Central Jail, Hotwar, Ranchi, until April 4.
Hemant Soren appeared in the court on Thursday through video conferencing and after this the period of judicial custody was extended.
Since then he is in jail. ED had arrested Hemant Soren on January 31 after eight hours of interrogation in the case of illegal purchase of 8.50 acres of land in Bargai area of Chi.
Hemant Soren will remain in Birsa Munda Central Jail, Hotwar, Ranchi till April 4.
