Golmuri School Faces Backlash Over Grade XI Results

JAMSHEDPUR – Kerala Samajam Model School in Golmuri became the focal point of parental outrage on Thursday, March 21, as a significant number of students, reportedly between 70 to 80, failed their Grade XI exams, leading to a public demonstration against the school’s educational standards and management practices.
The protesting parents alleged systemic flaws within the school’s teaching methods and suggested that a bias existed against students who did not take tuition from school faculty, contributing to the mass failures.
Amidst claims that the school aimed to boost its Class XII results at the expense of the current batch, demands were made for a reevaluation of the exams or a fee waiver for one academic year to mitigate the issue.
Despite the protest, the school’s stance remained firm, prompting parents to consider escalating the matter to the Deputy Commissioner’s office for intervention.
In a positive turn of events, the school management engaged in discussions with local authorities, including Golmuri Police Station’s Officer In-Charge and Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal, in the presence of the parents, exploring the possibility of granting promotions to the failed students based on directives from the district administration.
SDO Parul Singh has scheduled a meeting with the aggrieved parents for Friday, March 22, at 12:30 pm, aiming to find a resolution to the contention surrounding the Grade XI examination results.
