Steel City Ramps Up Security for Holi Festivities

Jamshedpur Authorities Deploy 2000 Police for Safe Holi Celebrations

With Holi around the corner, Jamshedpur authorities have increased security measures, deploying 2000 police personnel to ensure the festival of colours goes off without a hitch.

JAMSHEDPUR – As the vibrant festival of Holi draws near, Jamshedpur is tightening security to provide a safe and peaceful environment for celebrants, deploying a large contingent of police across the city.

In urban and rural areas alike, 800 and 1200 police officers respectively have been mobilized to prevent any untoward incidents that could mar the festivities.

SDO Parul Singh underscored the importance of vigilance during Holi, pointing out the tendency for minor offenders to disrupt the peace under the cover of celebration.

Officers are set to carry out arms checks and increase patrols, particularly in sensitive areas like Jugsalai, Mango, Sakchi, and Dhatkidih, to prevent disturbances.

Authorities have issued warnings against public intoxication and disruptive behavior, promising strict consequences for those caught violating the peace.

Special attention is being paid to curbing eve-teasing, with undercover officers deployed to monitor and act against such offenses.

City SP Mukesh Layant has called for strong coordination among police units to maintain order and ensure that Holi celebrations are conducted harmoniously.

To further ensure public safety, the sale of liquor will be banned on March 25, with the Excise Department mandating the closure of alcohol shops and bars, and prohibiting alcohol transport.

East Singhbhum SSP Kishore Kaushal announced additional restrictions, including a ban on loud music past 10 pm in silent zones, with emergency ambulance services available through the police control room.

As preparations for Holi continue, the comprehensive security arrangements reflect Jamshedpur’s commitment to a festive yet orderly celebration.

Authorities have issued warnings against public intoxication and disruptive behavior, promising strict consequences for those caught violating the peace.
