Jharkhand Enhances Security for Holi Celebrations

Eight thousand extra forces deployed across the state to ensure a safe Holi festival

Comprehensive security measures in place across Jharkhand for a peaceful Holi, with special emphasis on five districts.

RANCHI – In anticipation of the Holi festival, Jharkhand’s Police Headquarters has finalized extensive security arrangements to ensure the celebrations are conducted safely and peacefully across the state.

About eight thousand additional forces have been mobilized by the Police Headquarters, covering all districts to bolster security during the festive period.

District SPs have been put on high alert to oversee the security arrangements and are required to report any serious incidents directly to the police headquarters’ control room.

Particular attention is being paid to Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Hazaribagh, Giridih, and Lohardaga, where the sensitivity of the situation has warranted the deployment of one company of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in each district.

Additionally, Rapid Action Police (RAP) companies have been deployed in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Giridih, and Hazaribagh to further enhance security measures.

Tear gas squads are also in place in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, and Hazaribagh to address any potential disturbances quickly and effectively.

A targeted campaign against unauthorized autos, e-rickshaws, and pushcarts at key intersections has been launched to improve traffic management and reduce congestion during the festival.

Ranchi’s Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Kumar Sinha, has emphasized the importance of officials and police personnel discharging their duties effectively, highlighting the need to manage rumors swiftly to prevent tension.

Furthermore, all liquor shops in the district have been ordered to close on Holi, with raids planned against illegal liquor sales to maintain public order.

To enhance emergency response capabilities, fire fighting vehicles have been strategically positioned at critical locations throughout Ranchi.

A meeting with the Central Peace Committee was convened by Ranchi SSP Chandan Kumar Sinha to discuss the Holi security strategy, underlining the comprehensive efforts to ensure a safe and enjoyable festival for all residents of Jharkhand.
