Principal Pragya Singh highlights the importance of individual assessment and parental contribution

DAV Public School, Bistupur, conducted a nursery orientation program on Thursday, March 21, 2024, welcoming parents of nursery class children to the school. The event, which marked the beginning of the children’s 15-year educational journey, commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp and the DAV song.

JAMSHEDPUR – Mrs. Pragya Singh, Principal of the School and the ARO of Jharkhand Zone E, congratulated the parents and emphasized the importance of keeping children happy, healthy, and developing good habits to help them become the best citizens of India.

"Our aim is to make the best citizens of India," she stated, underlining the school’s commitment to holistic development.

Pragya Singh also stressed the significance of evaluating children individually, acknowledging that each child learns and expresses their learning differently.

She explained the role of parents in their children’s development and wished the students a bright future.

Early childhood education and developmental program

Mrs. Sutapa Ghosh, coordinator for nursery to class two, elaborated on the school’s rules and regulations.

Mrs. Kanchan Kumari provided detailed information about the early childhood education and developmental program, covering the social, emotional, and physical development of students, as well as the development of language, cognitive, and psycho-motor skills.

Assessment in nursery class

Mrs. Rinki Kumari shed light on the evaluation system in the nursery class, reiterating the importance of individual assessment without comparing children.

"Each child should be assessed individually without comparing them with others because children learn differently and also express their learning in different ways," she said, advocating for a report card-free system to ensure children feel comfortable with themselves.
