Joint Operation Dismantles CPI(Maoist) Influence, Seizes Arms

In a landmark operation, Chaibasa Police, Cobra units, and CRPF have successfully apprehended three CPI(Maoist) members in the Kolhan area, signaling a significant blow to Naxalite operations.

CHAIBASA – A collaborative effort between Chaibasa Police, Cobra units, and CRPF teams has culminated in the arrest of three key members of the banned CPI(Maoist) following reports of their involvement in subversive activities in the Kolhan region.

The operation, which unfolded on March 15th and 16th, 2024, near the forested areas of Paral, Rairowa, and the village Rela Paral in Panchaltab, was initiated based on intelligence reports indicating the presence of a Naxalite squad.

The detainees, identified as Rohit Padam (30), Yulip Jojo (20), and Basu Bahanda (32), are implicated in various criminal activities, with pending cases at Tonto and Jetteya police stations.

A police official highlighted the operation’s strategic execution, emphasizing the joint task force’s dedication to eradicating Naxalite influence and ensuring regional peace.

The operation led to the seizure of a substantial arsenal from a Naxalite hideout, including a .303 rifle, ammunition, explosives, and devices intended for making improvised bombs, alongside literature propagating Naxalite ideology.

A bomb disposal squad expert commented on the meticulous defusal of explosives, underscoring the ongoing vigilance required to mitigate the threat posed by such materials.

Ongoing Vigilance and Commitment

Officials from both the CRPF and the bomb disposal squad have reaffirmed their commitment to the safety and security of the people, stressing the importance of continuous operations to disrupt Naxalite activities and ensure peace in the Kolhan area.

The success of this joint operation not only represents a strategic victory against Naxalite forces but also reinforces the resolve of Indian security agencies to combat insurgency and maintain national security.
