On the occasion of World Consumer Day, the Bureau of Indian Standards, Jamshedpur branch, organized a street play titled ‘Jaago Grahak Jago’ in Chaibasa Sadar Bazaar, performed by the young talents of Geeta Theater.
CHAIBASA – Nukkad Natak, or street play, was chosen as a vehicle to create consumer awareness in Chaibasa by the Jamshedpur branch of Bureau of Indian Standards.
Actors K Divya, Anant Sardar, Vivek Prasad, Shyamali Dhibar, Gautam Dhibar, Geeta Kumari, and Prem Dixit performed with conviction, effectively conveying the message of consumer awareness and empowerment.
The play urged consumers to stay informed and empowered, emphasizing the importance of being vigilant while purchasing products, particularly gold, and scrutinizing hallmarks carefully.
The street play highlighted the importance of identifying authentic products by looking for the PAP mark and BDS number, encouraging spectators to utilize the Bureau of Indian Standards’ app to verify the authenticity and quality of products by dialing the CML number.
The performance aimed to educate the audience about deceptive practices by sellers who offer defective goods at inflated prices, shedding light on the need for consumer awareness and protection.
