Arjun Munda Advocates for Tribal Pride and Development in Khunti

Union Minister outlines achievements and development initiatives in Khunti, targets Congress for local issues.

In a significant visit to Khunti after his Lok Sabha ticket confirmation, Union Minister Arjun Munda emphasized the central government’s achievements in tribal welfare and development, while also addressing local challenges and criticizing the Congress for implementation delays.

KHUNTI – During his first address to district journalists post-ticket confirmation, Arjun Munda, Union Minister, delved into the transformative initiatives undertaken for tribal communities under the Narendra Modi government.

"The honor of tribal heroes like Lord Birsa Munda has been restored with Prime Minister Narendra Modi announcing Tribal Pride Day, enhancing tribal dignity globally," Munda remarked, highlighting the national recognition of tribal contributions.

Munda pointed to the establishment of the country’s first oxygen plant in Khunti during the Covid period as evidence of the government’s commitment to tribal health.

He elaborated on health camps organized in Khunti, providing free treatment and medication for various diseases, showcasing the government’s focus on improving healthcare accessibility in tribal areas.

"The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has entrusted me with the responsibility of showcasing Khunti’s uniqueness to the world, furthering the region’s development alongside national progress," Munda shared.

Efforts to enhance educational opportunities for tribal children through the establishment of Eklavya Model Schools across India were also outlined by Munda.

On infrastructure development, Munda mentioned the formal approval and ongoing progress of the bypass road construction in Khunti, promising to update the public soon.

Addressing concerns over the delayed urban water supply scheme, Munda deflected responsibility to the state government, urging timely implementation for public benefit.

Responding to criticism from local Congress leaders about his absence in Khunti, Munda asserted his ongoing engagement and presence within the community.

In Bundu, Munda addressed the erroneous categorization of tribal community members as Scheduled Caste due to data entry errors, pledging corrective action and improved local infrastructure.
