Sport Climbing Academy Wins Big, Fosters Grassroots Talent

Tata Steel Adventure Foundation’s academy secures 23 medals at the Open Sport Climbing Championship in Kolkata.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Tata Steel Adventure Foundation’s (TSAF) Sport Climbing Academy has made a significant mark at the Open Sport Climbing Championship in Kolkata, showcasing its commitment to grassroots sports development.

TSAF’s strategy to focus on grassroots participation has led to impressive outcomes, with the academy clinching a total of 23 medals.

Athletes from the academy participated in various categories, excelling in Lead Climbing and Bouldering formats.

A strong contingent of 71 athletes from Jamshedpur demonstrated exceptional skill, winning 7 Gold, 9 Silver, and 7 Bronze medals.

The academy operates Sport Climbing centers in Kadma, Bagunhatu, Pipla, Rajnagar, Parsudih, and Tinplate, promoting regular practice under expert guidance.

With advanced facilities at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, TSAF further enhances its athletes’ skills through bi-weekly practice sessions.

The championship’s success underscores TSAF’s dedication to discovering and nurturing young talent, strengthening India’s sport climbing scene.
