Applications for School Seats on Fake Documents Cancelled in Jamshedpur

Education Dept Cracks Down on Fraudulent School Admissions

In a significant move against fraudulent admissions, the District Education Department’s verification reveals 250 fake applications, ensuring only valid entries proceed.

JAMSHEDPUR – The District Education Department’s latest scrutiny has led to the cancellation of 250 fraudulent applications for school admissions.

In an act of deception, parents attempted to secure BPL quota seats with forged documents.

This year’s investigation uncovered that some parents applied with birth certificates showing varying dates for the same child.

Previously, these parents had sought admissions under the BPL quota, altering the child’s date of birth.

Ashish Pandey, the District Education Superintendent, confirmed that all documents are under thorough verification.

A total of 2740 applications were filed for this admission cycle.

Only those applications verified as genuine are being considered for the school admission process.

In cases where applications exceed available seats, a lottery system will determine admissions.

A detailed report revealed 75 cases of fabricated income certificates among the applications.

Additionally, 175 parents were found to have submitted fake birth certificates for their children.

The fabrication of documents aimed at exploiting the 25% seat reservation for BPL students in private schools.

Efforts to secure admissions through deceitful means involved affluent families preparing fake credentials.

The Department is finalizing actions against the implicated parents, with decisions pending at the Deputy Commissioner’s level.
