JAMSHEDPUR – The city is mourning the loss of Suresh Mukhi, a prominent Congress leader and Mukhi Samaj President, who died after being admitted to Tata Main Hospital under critical condition.

After a valiant struggle by the medical team, Mukhi’s life could not be saved.

The incident occurred around 10:00 pm, with Mukhi allegedly taking a fatal leap into a pond at Dhatkidih, leaving the community in shock.

His vehicle was discovered parked nearby, hinting at his presence at the scene prior to the incident.

Initial reports said, eyewitnesses, recognizing Mukhi, endeavored to rescue him, a task that proved to be challenging.

Upon rescue, he was swiftly transported to Tata Main Hospital, where he ultimately passed away.

Reports indicate Mukhi was with two friends at the pond’s edge before asking them to leave, claiming he needed to make a call.

Shortly after, in a harrowing turn, Mukhi allegedly jumped into the water.

The friends, realizing the gravity of the situation, alerted others, leading to his rescue and subsequent hospitalization.

The police are diligently investigating to ascertain whether Mukhi’s death was a result of suicide or if foul play was involved.
