Family feud over tamarind tree share leads to four tragic deaths in Jamshedpur

A family dispute over a tamarind tree’s share results in the arrest of five individuals for a murder disguised as suicide in Jamshedpur.

CHAIBASA – In a shocking revelation, a family dispute over the share of a tamarind tree escalated into a heinous crime, leading to the tragic death of a family in Jamshedpur.

The meticulous investigation by the police unveiled the murder of Roybari Sinku, her husband Binu Sinku, and their children, initially staged to look like a suicide.

The incident, which unfolded between Kendposi and Iligaka stations, was reported to the police on February 17, 2024, sparking an immediate and thorough investigation.

The Station Master at Kendposi, Purnachandra Ichagutu, was the first to be alerted about the grim discovery early in the morning.

A special investigation team led by Sub-Divisional Police Officer Jagannathpur took charge, resulting in the swift arrest of Mangal Singh Sinku, Jogen Sinku, Dupara Sinku, Motra Sinku, and Soma Sinku.

These arrests were facilitated by a detailed scientific investigation and a targeted raid, where the accused confessed to their involvement in the crime.

The assailants, embroiled in a long-standing family conflict over property rights, resorted to violence using wooden sticks as weapons.

The police force, including Assistant Superintendent of Police Amit Anand and Deputy Superintendent of Police Pradeep Kumar, demonstrated exemplary coordination in apprehending the suspects.

This tragic case underscores the importance of resolving disputes peacefully and the pivotal role of law enforcement in bringing culprits to justice.

The community is now faced with the task of healing from this tragedy, as the accused prepare for their impending trial.
