Jharkhand CM Meets Congress Chief in Delhi

Cabinet reshuffle sparks Congress MLAs’ discontent in Jharkhand government coalition

Jharkhand’s new CM Champai Soren discusses cabinet posts with Congress President Kharge amid MLAs’ displeasure over allocations.

RANCHI – Following the formation of a new government in Jharkhand under the leadership of Champai Soren, the state’s political landscape sees significant interactions in Delhi.

Champai Soren, succeeding Hemant Soren as Chief Minister after the latter’s resignation due to a land scam arrest, engaged in talks with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge.

The meeting between the new Chief Minister and the Congress leader was described as a courtesy call by Soren, marking his first visit to Delhi since assuming office.

This development comes amidst reports of dissatisfaction among Congress MLAs over the distribution of ministerial positions in the new coalition government.

Soren addressed the media, stating that discussions on cabinet seat allocations are pending and will be a focal point in upcoming meetings.

He also commented on the discontent within Congress ranks, viewing it as an internal issue to be resolved by the party’s leadership and MLAs.

The presence of disgruntled Congress MLAs in Delhi, seeking talks with the party’s high command for improved representation in the government, underscores the coalition’s challenges.

Meetings between these MLAs and senior Congress figures, including KC Venugopal and Mallikarjun Kharge, are anticipated as the party aims to address its internal discord.

This series of meetings highlights the intricate dynamics within the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-led coalition, emphasizing the importance of unity and communication in governance.
