Jamshedpur MLA Receives ‘Awaz-e-Sikh Kaum’ for Justice Efforts

JAMSHEDPUR – Saryu Roy’s unwavering commitment to advocating for the 1984 Sikh riots victims led to his receipt of the prestigious ‘Awaz-e-Sikh Kaum’ honour.
The ceremony, held at his Bistupur residence, saw the gathering of significant Sikh community figures.
Among the attendees were Inderjit Singh Panesar, Amarjeet Singh, Manjeet Singh Gill, Trilok Singh, Puran Singh, Gurdeep Singh Saini, Inderpal Singh Bhatia, and Avtar Singh.
Their collective presence highlighted a unified resolve to seek justice and acknowledgement for those impacted by the 1984 riots.
The award is a testament to Roy’s legislative efforts to address the injustices suffered by the Sikh community during the riots.
His actions include the initiation of a case in the Jharkhand Assembly, aimed at rectifying the long-standing grievances of the affected families.
Satnam Singh Gambhir, the All India Sikh Students Federation’s East India President, led the award ceremony, lauding Roy’s persistent support.
Gambhir expressed confidence in Roy’s continued collaboration in their pursuit of justice, acknowledging his proactive role in the Jharkhand Assembly.
