BJM Core Committee Meeting Highlights Corruption and Local Issues

Saryu Roy criticizes the state government and opposition for failing to address corruption and deceiving the public on key issues.

RANCHI – Saryu Roy, patron of Bharatiya Janata Morcha (BJM) and MLA from Jamshedpur East, stated that there are serious allegations of corruption against the state government.

Despite these allegations, the opposition has failed to make corruption a central issue, indicating that both the government and the opposition are playing with public sentiment.

Roy presented his views at the BJM core committee meeting in Doranda on Wednesday.

Corruption and Financial Concerns

Roy criticized the government for opening its treasury during election times without budget provisions.

He asserted that every responsible citizen of Jharkhand is aware of the government’s corruption.

"Despite serious corruption allegations, the divided opposition has failed to highlight this issue effectively. Both the government and the opposition are deceiving the public on local policy, employment, and reservation issues," Roy said.

He also mentioned that the liquor and mining scams have been ongoing since 2015, with key individuals from that period still holding constitutional posts.

Roy pointed out that even amidst accusations of corruption, major political parties continue to align with tainted individuals.

Manifesto and Election Strategy

Roy announced that BJM will visit all municipalities and assembly constituencies from July 15 to August 15 to gather feedback and prepare a state-level manifesto.

The manifesto will focus on local issues, with district-wise versions addressing specific regional concerns.

"We aim to provide a third option for the people of Jharkhand and will contest at least 30 seats in the assembly elections," Roy added.

BJM’s Central President Dharmendra Tiwari noted that despite significant campaigning efforts by top leaders, including the Prime Minister and the Home Minister, the elections in Ranchi Lok Sabha constituency revealed the need for a strong alternative.

"Our workers are motivated and ready for the assembly elections. The people of Jharkhand look to BJM and Saryu Roy with hope," Tiwari said.

Political Landscape and Future Directions

Vice President of BJM, P N Singh, emphasized that every election teaches new lessons, and BJM aims to emerge as a viable third stream in Jharkhand politics.

Central General Secretary Ashish Sheetal Munda suggested preparing a list of five clean candidates for each assembly and expanding the organization through district conferences.

The core committee meeting in Doranda included participation from Central Vice President P N Singh, Mukesh Pandey, Central General Secretary Ashish Sheetal Munda, Sanjeev Acharya, Central Secretary Somen Dutta, Manoj Singh, and all district presidents.

Ranchi District President Ashok Thakur delivered the welcome speech, and Sushil Kumar, President of the Business Cell, gave the vote of thanks.
