AISSF Steps Up Efforts as List of 12 Anti-Sikh Riot Victims Handed Over in Jamshedpur Following Court Orders

Efforts to secure compensation for 1984 Anti-Sikh riot victims intensified today with the handover of a list of 12 victims in Jamshedpur.

JAMSHEDPUR – Harjeet Singh Dhami, representing the victim families of Ramgarh Bhurkunda, handed over a list of 12 victims to Satnam Singh Gambhir, East India President of the All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF).

The handover follows directives from the Jharkhand High Court, which had instructed Gambhir to provide a district-wise breakdown of victims who have yet to receive compensation.

The list from Hazaribagh Ramgarh Bhurkunda was compiled and delivered in compliance with the court’s directive.

Gambhir, a relentless advocate for the riot victims, assured that efforts would be intensified to ensure no victim family remains uncompensated.

He emphasized that the struggle for justice will continue until all victims receive their due, noting the prolonged 40-year wait for many families.

Gambhir remarked that the handover marks a crucial step in their fight for justice and expressed distress over the lack of compensation even after four decades.

Inderjit Singh Panesar, another prominent advocate for Sikh riot victims, was also present, highlighting the unity within the Sikh community in their quest for justice.

The All India Sikh Students Federation, under Gambhir’s leadership, remains committed to advocating for the rights and compensations due to the victims of the 1984 riots.

This latest development underscores the persistent demand for timely and fair compensation to all affected families.

"We are determined to ensure every victim family receives the justice they deserve," said Gambhir, reinforcing his commitment to the cause.
