Encounter in Bokaro Forests with Maoists Continues

Security Forces Clash with Naxalites Near Jhumra, Firing Persists

In an ongoing confrontation in Bokaro, security forces engage Naxalites in the dense forests near Jhumra, with reports of sustained gunfire.

RANCHI – In a continued escalation of violence, security forces have once again engaged with Naxalites in the dense forests surrounding Jhumra and Lugu Pahad, marking the second consecutive day of conflict in the region.

The operation initiated by the Cobra battalion on Tuesday night, which ventured into the forest for a search mission, set the stage for the current face-off.

This engagement forms part of a larger reconnaissance effort by security forces following an encounter on Tuesday, targeting Naxalite factions active in the area.

The confrontation is reportedly with Birsen alias Kana’s squad, which is believed to comprise 15 to 20 members.

During the clash, both parties exchanged 25 to 30 rounds of bullets within the first hour, demonstrating the intensity of the firefight.

This follows a similarly fierce encounter on Tuesday in the Gidauniya forest, where hundreds of rounds were fired over two hours.

The encounter began at approximately 9:30 am today, with both sides engaging in heavy gunfire for an hour, and intermittent firing continuing thereafter.

This violent exchange took place near Doomarpaniya in Halwe (Tilaiya), within the jurisdiction of the Jageshwar Bihar police station, highlighting the volatile nature of the area straddling the border of Jhumra and Lugu Pahad forests.
