JAMSHEDPUR – Tatanagar station has enhanced passenger convenience by introducing QR code-based digital payments for its restrooms and parking facilities, aligning with a Railway Board directive to promote digital transactions.
The move ensures passengers can access essential services without the need for cash, further modernizing the travel experience.
Digital payments, previously adopted at station eateries and through pantry car QR codes, are part of a broader shift towards seamless, cashless transactions.
The railway is also advancing towards digital collection methods for fines and additional ticket charges onboard trains, with updates to Handheld Terminal (HHT) devices underway.
