JAMSHEDPUR – A trailer parked at Amalgam Steel Company’s parking area in Kandra caught fire on Wednesday evening.
The incident created panic as flames engulfed the vehicle. Locals tried to control the blaze, but it spread rapidly. The modern company’s fire unit arrived about an hour later and brought the fire under control.
However, the trailer’s cabin was completely destroyed. The vehicle, bearing registration RJ47GA-3704, was reportedly occupied by its driver, who was cooking inside the cabin.
Suddenly, a loud blast was heard, after which the trailer was engulfed in flames. Officials suspect a cooking gas cylinder explosion may have caused the fire.
At present, the fire has been extinguished, and authorities are investigating the exact cause.
