Elderly Man Dies After Train Accident, Family Seeks Justice

JAMSHEDPUR – A 68-year-old man, Bharat Majhi, succumbed to his injuries late last night at MGM Hospital in Sakchi, Jamshedpur, after being struck by a goods train.
His son, Kamal Majhi, aged 26, has filed a formal complaint at the Sakchi police station, detailing the unfortunate series of events.
The incident occurred as Bharat Majhi was herding goats near the railway tracks, a routine activity that took a fatal turn.
Attempting to cross the railway under a stationary goods train, he was critically injured when the train unexpectedly began moving, resulting in severe leg injuries.
The family was alerted to the accident via telephone and, with the assistance of neighbors, rushed him to MGM Hospital.
Despite efforts to save him, Bharat Majhi passed away during treatment, leaving the family and community in mourning.
Following his death, the authorities moved his body for an autopsy on Tuesday, marking the next step in the investigation into this heartbreaking incident.
Kamal Majhi, in his grievance, mentioned their residence in Jaduguda Asanbani, shedding light on the victim’s background and the abrupt loss the family faces.
