Sukurmani Singh Succumbs to Snakebite Injuries at MGM Hospital
A 52-year-old woman from Bamni village in Jamshedpur’s rural Patamda area died after being bitten by a poisonous snake on Sunday night.
JAMSHEDPUR – Sukurmani Singh, a resident of Bamni village under the Patamda police station, died after being bitten by a venomous snake called Chiti in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Unfortunately, she passed away during her treatment at MGM Hospital on Monday morning.
Basudev Mandal reported that Sukurmani Singh was peacefully sleeping by herself on the floor in a room of her house when the incident took place.
While she was peacefully asleep, an unexpected visitor paid her a visit in the form of a snake. The sudden bite on her finger jolted her awake, leaving her with a painful burning sensation.
Upon discovering that she had been bitten by a venomous snake, she urgently alerted her son and daughter-in-law, who were peacefully asleep in a nearby room.
Despite her desperate pleas for assistance, the provision of medical care was postponed until the following morning.
Her son shared the news with others, and she was transported to MGM Hospital in an ambulance in the morning.
Regrettably, Sukurmani Singh passed away due to her injuries while receiving treatment.
This incident serves as a reminder of the risks associated with snakebites and the crucial role that prompt medical intervention plays.
