Second Edition of Tata Steel Horse Show Champions Equestrian Sports
Tata Steel’s Horse Riding School’s commitment to equestrian sports was evident at the second edition of the Jamshedpur Horse Show, promoting competitive riding among youth.
JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel’s Horse Riding School has become a cornerstone for equestrian enthusiasts in Jamshedpur, with its involvement in national competitions and the daily engagement of 50 to 60 riders showcasing the city’s growing interest in horse riding. This commitment was underlined by the Sports Department’s plans to expand membership and enhance participation in national tournaments, emphasizing the sport’s development. The school’s journey since its inception in 1994, with over 150 regular subscribers, highlights its pivotal role in fostering equestrian sports in the region.
Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President of Corporate Services at Tata Steel, emphasized the significance of the Jamshedpur Horse Show in cultivating young talent and announced plans to augment the school’s horse inventory. This initiative aims to meet the training needs for a wider range of equestrian disciplines, including jumping, dressage, and tent pegging.
Ms. Ruchi Narendran, the Chief Guest, lauded the event for its excellence and the remarkable performance of the young riders, marking it as a testament to the successful collaboration between participants and organizers.
The event’s popularity and competitive spirit were highlighted by the diverse competitions, including show jumping, tent pegging, and Gymkhana events, attracting participants across all age groups and judged by esteemed members of the Equestrian Federation of India.
Awards were presented to outstanding riders, with Jasraj Virk and Ruchi Verma recognized as the best riders in their respective categories, underscoring the talent present at the event.
The second edition of the Jamshedpur Horse Show, organized by Tata Steel Sports Department, not only celebrated the sport but also aimed to introduce children to competitive riding, evidenced by the enthusiastic participation of 78 riders.
