First Images of Ayodhya’s Ram Lalla Idol Go Viral

Ayodhya Ram Lalla Idol Installation Sparks Devotion Online

The first images of the Lord Shri Ram, now placed in Ayodhya’s Ram Temple Garbha Griha, have gone viral on social media, marking a momentous occasion in the run up to the Pran Pratishtha ceremony on Jan 22.

AYODHYA – The idol of Ram Lalla, a significant figure in Hindu mythology, was placed in the Garbha Griha of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya amid chants of “Jai Shri Ram.”

This event precedes the Pran Pratishtha ceremony scheduled for January 22.

The installation followed a special puja held in the sanctum sanctorum, with the idol brought in using a crane in a meaningful prelude to the upcoming ceremony.

Renowned Karnataka sculptor Arun Yogiraj crafted the statue, which has now become a focal point of devotion and admiration.

The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra, responsible for the construction and management of the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya, announced the selection of Yogiraj’s work for the temple.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to attend the Pran Pratishtha of the idol at the grand temple in Ayodhya on January 22.

The ceremony is attracting significant attention, with thousands of high-profile guests invited. Rituals for the Pran Pratishtha began on Tuesday and will continue over seven days.

The installation of the idol, sculpted by Yogiraj, has been a subject of national pride, especially in Karnataka. Yogiraj, known for his other prominent works like statues of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at India Gate and Adi Shankaracharya at Kedarnath, dedicated himself to this project, reportedly isolating himself from family during the process.

The selection of Yogiraj’s idol, which was one of three considered by the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra, has been lauded by figures like Karnataka BJP leader BS Yediyurappa. The sculptor’s family, with a history of idol carving, celebrates this achievement as a high point in their generational craftsmanship.

As the nation prepares for the opening of the Ram Mandir by Prime Minister Modi, the installation of Ram Lalla’s idol signifies a historic and cultural milestone.
