MGM Medical College’s paramedical staff protests over a controversial registration process for permanent positions.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tensions have flared at MGM Medical College, with paramedical staff strongly opposing the rapid registration process for permanent positions.

Tuesday witnessed intense demonstrations on campus, with participants vocally criticizing Hemant Soren and Banna Gupta.

The staff, having completed a rigorous two-year diploma and a one-year internship, currently work on a contractual basis.

This protest comes in the wake of the Jharkhand government’s creation of over 600 permanent paramedical positions.

Controversy arose when individuals with a six-month course from outside the state received equivalent status after only 15 days of training in Jharkhand.

The aggrieved staff feel undermined and deceived by this policy.

Despite earlier acknowledgments by the authorities, the quickened registration process has resumed, leading to widespread dissatisfaction.

The Paramedical Staff Association’s repeated appeals to Banna Gupta have yet to yield a satisfactory solution.

Complicating matters, reports indicate that half of the new positions have been reserved, exacerbating the staff’s grievances.

The staff warn of escalating their protests into more forceful actions if their demands remain unaddressed.

With the situation at MGM Medical College remaining tense, the government faces increasing pressure to resolve the paramedical staff’s concerns.
