XLRI Jamshedpur Launches XL-JESEY Award for Tribal Entrepreneurs

Recognizing Tribal Entrepreneurship in India: XLRI Announces XL-JESEY Award

XLRI Jamshedpur announces the inaugural XL-JESEY Award, focusing on Tribal Entrepreneurship to encourage social innovation and inclusivity.

JAMSHEDPUR – XLRI Jamshedpur has announced the launch of an Award to recognize and honor pioneering social entrepreneurs within the tribal communities of India.

The premier management institute has introduced the “Emerging Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award (XL-JESEY 2024)”, underscoring a commitment to fostering inclusive development and entrepreneurial spirit.

The institute said the theme set for this inaugural year, “Tribal Entrepreneurship in India”, is a clarion call to bring forth the innovations and contributions of tribal entrepreneurs to the fore.

These individuals, often working against the odds, are not just creating economic value but also driving social change within their communities.

The award is set to be a highlight at the 7th Social Entrepreneurship Conclave (SEC-7), an event that XLRI Jamshedpur has been organizing diligently, bringing together thought leaders, practitioners, and academics to deliberate on the path forward for social entrepreneurship in the country.

This year, the spotlight is on the grassroots leaders who are at the forefront of social enterprises that have been operational for a minimum of three years and no more than eight.

The eligibility criterion ensures that both relatively new ventures and those that have stood the test of time are considered for this prestigious recognition.

An eminent jury, composed of seasoned industry practitioners and academic scholars, will adjudicate the award, ensuring a rigorous and fair evaluation process.

According to the institute sources, XLRI has always been synonymous with excellence and integrity, and this jury’s composition is a testament to the institute’s enduring values.

The award comes with a cash prize and a citation, adding not just a financial incentive but also providing the much-needed acknowledgment to the social entrepreneurs who are making a difference.

The last date for nominations has been announced as January 20, 2024, urging interested parties to put forward their candidatures or nominate deserving individuals.

For further inquiries and submissions, XLRI has provided a point of contact through Team SIGMA-oikos, which can be reached at sigma.

This initiative is not just a celebration of entrepreneurial success but also a crucial step towards building an ecosystem that supports social innovation and inclusive growth in India’s tribal regions.

As XLRI Jamshedpur gears up for SEC-7 and the award ceremony, there is palpable excitement about the potential discoveries of unsung heroes who are transforming lives through their enterprises.

According to institute sources, this award could well be the beacon that guides future social entrepreneurs towards sustainable and impactful business models that the world needs.
