Sanatan Utsav Samiti Seeks Ban on Meat, Liquor on Jan 22

Sanatan Utsav Samiti Requests Meat, Liquor Ban for Religious Event in East Singhbhum

Sanatan Utsav Samiti petitions for a ban on meat and liquor sales in East Singhbhum district on January 22, 2024, during a Ayodhya Pran Pratishtha religious event.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Sanatan Utsav Samiti has presented a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner, requesting a ban on the sale of meat and liquor in East Singhbhum district on January 22, 2024.

This request coincides with the celebration of the grand arrival of Shri Ram Lala in Ayodhya, marked by various religious activities and a festival of lights in the district.

The Samiti plans to illuminate the streets near the Hanuman temple in Sakchi with eleven thousand lamps as part of the celebrations.

Emphasizing the need to respect Hindu religious sentiments and prevent any misunderstandings or rumors, the Samiti has advocated for the ban on all types of non-vegetarian food, including meat, fish, and chicken.

The proposed ban also extends to the sale of liquor, aiming to maintain the sanctity of the religious event.

The Samiti urges the administration to identify sensitive areas in the district and hold meetings with local Hindu religious organizations and representatives to ensure the smooth conduct of the religious ceremonies.

Their efforts aim to prevent any impurity, disputes, or conflicts during the Hindu religious worship associated with this auspicious occasion.
