SER Augments Key Trains with Additional Coaches

South Eastern Railway Boosts Capacity on Popular Routes

South Eastern Railway’s decision to add new coaches to key trains marks a significant improvement in passenger comfort and capacity.

JAMSHEDPUR -The South Eastern Railway (SER) has announced a major upgrade to several important trains, introducing additional coaches to enhance passenger comfort and meet the growing demand for rail travel.

This initiative will see an expansion in the capacity of popular routes, ensuring a more spacious and pleasant journey for commuters.

The Howrah-Tirupati-Howrah Humsafar Express (Train No. 20889/20890) will receive one extra AC 3 Tier coach, starting from Howrah on December 30, 2023, and from Tirupati on December 31, 2023.

A SER spokesperson emphasized that this augmentation is an ongoing effort to respond to increasing rail travel demand, especially on the Howrah-Tirupati route.

The Ranchi-Anand Vihar-Ranchi Sampark Kranti Express (Train No. 12825/12826) will be enhanced with various upgraded coaches, including a composite coach, starting from December 28, 2023, from Ranchi, and December 30, 2023, from Anand Vihar.

This upgrade is aimed at offering passengers a wider range of travel options with enhanced comfort.

The Howrah-Sainagar Shirdi-Howrah Express (Train No. 22894/22893) will also see the addition of one AC 3 Tier coach, effective from December 28, 2023, from Howrah, and December 30, 2023, from Sainagar Shirdi.

The move is intended to cater to the increased demand on this route and improve the travel experience.

For the Hatia-Islampur-Hatia Express (Train No. 18624/18623), one AC 3 Tier Economy coach will be added, starting from December 28, 2023, from Hatia, and December 31, 2023, from Islampur.

This augmentation reflects SER’s commitment to making rail travel more accessible and comfortable for diverse passengers.

The Islampur-New Delhi-Islampur Express (Train No. 20801/20802) will also benefit from the addition of one AC 3 Tier Economy coach, effective from December 29, 2023, from Islampur, and December 30, 2023, from New Delhi. Nitu Bose, a regular commuter, expressed her satisfaction with SER’s initiative, highlighting the positive impact these improvements will have on daily commuters.

The South Eastern Railway’s commitment to passenger satisfaction is evident in this latest move to modernize and enhance rail services, providing a more comfortable travel experience for passengers on these key routes.
