Massive Promotion Drive in Jharkhand: 36 State Officers Promoted

Jharkhand Government’s recent promotion spree boosts 36 State Administrative Service officers, emphasizing effective administration and governance.

RANCHI – In a significant move to bolster its administrative machinery, the Jharkhand Government has promoted a large number of State Administrative Service officers across various ranks.

The promotion, announced on December 26, 2023, by the Department of Personnel, elevates officers from Additional Secretary to Special Secretary, Additional Secretary to Joint Secretary, and Additional Collector and equivalent to Joint Secretary rank.

Among the notable promotions, nine officers have ascended to the Special Secretary rank, including Sanjay Kumar from the Water Resources Department and Jai Kishore Prasad of the Health Department.

Others promoted to Special Secretary include Rajesh Kumar Rai, DDC Garhwa, Vidhan Chandra Chaudhary of the Building Construction Department, and Rajeev Ranjan Kumar from the Drinking Water Department.

Shailendra Kumar Lal, City Commissioner, Hazaribagh, Sudhir Bada, PD of the Integrated Tribal Development Agency, Ranchi, and Rajdeep Sanjay Lal John from the Forest Department have also been elevated.

Anil Kumar Tirkey, previously Additional Collector, Koderma, joins the list of officers promoted to Special Secretary.

13 officers promoted to the rank of Additional Secretary include Sarita Das: Home Department, Ranchi, Shahid Akhtar: Deputy Development Commissioner, Pakur, Sudhir Kumar: GM, Beverages Corporation Limited, Rajeev Ranjan: Cabinet Secretariat and Monitoring Department, Anirudh Kumar Sinha: Finance Department, Om Prakash Sah: Personnel Department, Ranjit Kumar Sinha: Deputy Secretary to the Finance Minister, Kumkum Prasad: Deputy Election Commissioner, Ranchi, Akhauri Shashank Sinha: Road Construction Department, Manoj Kumar Ranjan: Mines Department, Shail Prabha Kujur: Rural Development Department, Robin Toppo: Deputy Development Commissioner, Ramgarh, Nayan Tara Kerketta: Director (Administration), Agriculture Department.

In addition, 14 officers have been promoted to the rank of Joint Secretary, including Jyotsna Singh, Manju Rani Swansi, and Amar Kumar from the Personnel Department.

Other officers elevated to Joint Secretary include Mohammad Asif Hasan, Javed Anwar Idrisi, Surendra Kumar, Manoj Kumar, Madhumita Kumari, Mrs. Meena, Kamalkant Gupta, Chintu Doraiburu, Neelam Soreng, Kunwar Singh Pahan, and Smriti Kumari.

The promotion order also specifies that the financial benefits and other facilities of the promoted posts will be effective from the date of joining the appointed posts.

This promotion drive reflects the state’s commitment to enhancing the efficiency and responsiveness of its administrative framework.
