Editors XI and SSP XI Face Off in Friendly Media Cup Match

In Jamshedpur’s Media Cup Cricket Tournament 2023, a friendly match between SSP XI and Editor XI showcased journalistic camaraderie.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Press Club of Jamshedpur’s Media Cup Cricket Tournament 2023, commemorating Praveen Singh, witnessed a spirited friendly cricket match at the Co-operative College ground.

Editor’s XI, batting first, put up a total of 68 runs in 12 overs, losing seven wickets.

Notable performances came from Kaushal, who scored 17 runs, and Jai Prakash, who added 13 runs to the team’s tally.

Their innings featured impactful boundaries and sixes.

Sanjay Pandey and Prashant also made significant contributions with 9 runs each.

In the bowling department for SSP XI, Rahul successfully took two wickets, while Manoj, Praveen, and Vivek claimed one wicket each.

SSP XI, chasing the target, achieved a win by scoring 72 runs with the loss of only two wickets in just 5.4 overs.

Mrinal starred for SSP XI, scoring a high 34 runs, including two fours and three sixes.

Vikrant and Praveen each added 14 runs, contributing to their team’s victorious performance.

Chandan from Editor’s XI managed to take two wickets in the match.

The event was graced by City SP Mukesh Lunayat and social worker Shiv Shankar Singh, who encouraged the players.

Mementos were presented to the guests by the Press Club of Jamshedpur, emphasizing the event’s communal and celebratory spirit.

Prominent media personalities, including editors from Prabhat Khabar, Dainik Bhaskar, Hindustan, and Dainik Jagran, were in attendance.

The presence of Press Club President Sanjeev Bhardwaj, along with other officials, underlined the importance of the tournament in fostering unity and sportsmanship within the journalistic community.
