Rahil Gangjee and Angad Cheema emerge as top contenders in the INR 3 crore Tata Steel Tour Championship, leading with Gaganjeet Bhullar.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Tata Steel Tour Championship 2023, Jamshedpur’s prestigious golf event, is witnessing a gripping contest for the title.

Rahil Gangjee, Angad Cheema, and Gaganjeet Bhullar are jointly leading the tournament with 19-under 197 scores.

Bhullar, the overnight leader, remains in contention with his consistent performance, while Gangjee and Cheema have risen to the top.

Divyanshu Bajaj, Arjun Prasad, Kartik Sharma, and Shivendra Singh Sisodia are tied for fourth, trailing the leaders.

The unique format of the tournament involves players alternating between the Beldih and Golmuri Golf Courses.

Gangjee’s standout performance included an eagle and three birdies, propelled by his focus on managing emotions and staying present.

Cheema’s bogey-free round was a highlight, showcasing his precision in chipping and consistent hitting.

The tournament’s final round is set to be intense, with the leaders closely matched and Bhullar looking to leverage his positive form.

Chikkarangappa S, last year’s winner, is currently tied for 13th, while Om Prakash Chouhan is in a strong position to top the Tata Steel PGTI Ranking.

Aman Raj, Chouhan’s closest competitor, needs a win to challenge for the No. 1 spot in the Order of Merit.

Local professionals Karan Taunk and Kurush Heerjee are also participating, holding positions tied 56th and tied 71st, respectively.

This championship, concluding in Jamshedpur, is a highlight for golf enthusiasts, showcasing top-notch skills and fierce competition among leading golfers.
